I'm a thirty-something guy living, eating and cooking for fun in Washington, DC. I'll be abusing ellipses and writing regularly about my appreciation for locally grown/produced food and the chefs/home cooks who use it . . . and other delicious food too. All photos on the blog were taken by yours truly, unless otherwise noted. Out of respect for the creators and for copyright reasons, I don't reprint the published recipes of others. The recipes detailed here are mine and those of family and friends who give me permission to blog them.

In an effort to hightlight the abundance of local foodstuffs, all ingredients grown/raised/produced in the Chesapeake Bay region are marked with an asterisk(*). I'm sure there's great food grown/raised/produced in your region. Get out there to a farmers market and show your regional producers some love.

The New York Times on "Brooklyn’s New Culinary Movement"

I was out of town last weekend visiting family and friends in Pennsylvania and, though I did some cooking, I didn't photograph any food. Now I find myself mid-week, buried with work, with none of my own food to blog about. Oh well. What I do have is a great article about small, obsessive food producers in Brooklyn from yesterday's NY Times, written by the son of a friend of mine. It's called Brooklyn's New Culinary Movement.
