Have you ever eaten a goose egg?

I'd never eaten a goose egg before yesterday. I bought it from Pecan Meadow Farm operators Daniel and Lois Shirk, from Newburg, PA, who vend at DC's 14th & U Streets farmers market on Saturday mornings. I also bought a goose from them, which is in my freezer and will likely be roasted next weekend.
Because I'd never before eaten a goose egg, I decided on a super simple preparation . . . side by side with a chicken egg from Waterview Foods in Nanticoke, MD, to see if I could perceive any major differences beyond size. Well, to me, they pretty much tasted the same. The goose egg white was a bit more translucent when fully cooked, but the tastes of the two eggs were similar.
In the spirit of a diversified diet, I plan on continuing to buy/eat goose eggs when the opportunity presents itself. Next up, the one-goose-egg-omelette. Cheers.

Cool post. That's a pretty big egg! Somehow the top picture makes me dizzy. Seasick dizzy. Strange, right?

Umm . . . dizzy isn't quite what I was aiming for with the photo . . . but I suppose evocation of any feeling is better than evocation of no feeling!

Man, that is some high heat for eggs.

Actually, that site has a lot of great explanatory stuff lately (mostly by a chef, Mike Pardus, who isn't the one on the egg video). My favorite is the series on how to break down a chicken: https://ahungerartist.bobdelgrosso.com/2008/10/breaking-down-bird-101-by-mike-pardus.html. No one should buy individual chicken parts when the entire bird is much cheaper!
And sorry if me posting the egg frying thing was patronizing. I was referencing the discussion of high heat in egg cookery, not implying that you don't know how to fry an egg.

I hate eggs. Any kind of egg for that matter. I don't know why I hate eggs though. I can't stand the thought of me eating one.
