Coffee Break

I'm taking a coffee break.  This is my 140th blog post since I began blogging 6.5 months ago and I'm feeling like I need a little rest.  My non-blogging life has been very busy for the past week and will continue to be very busy for the coming two weeks . . . a work trip to Kansas tomorrow . . . a trip to Pennsylvania for my brother's wedding Friday through Monday . . . then a work trip to Texas during the last week of the month.  I'd rather just take a blogging hiatus than have this feel like a hassle.  Gotta keep it fun up in here.  So I'll be back on or around June 2.

Oh yeah, I know I promised chocolate.  My pants are on fire.  No more chocolate for all y'all until after my coffee break.  I finished the wedding chocolates today and sent them north to the bride-to-be.  I made the lavender ones I've already blogged about, as well as the caramel ones I've already blogged about.  They're in pretty little boxes . . . but I didn't take any photos of them today.  By the time I was done with them, I was sick of looking at chocolate!  Maybe I'll take a photo of them at the wedding next weekend and post it while on hiatus . . . or when I get back to blogging.

And the cooking demo Saturday was a lot of fun.  It wasn't so much a "demo" as me just cooking for a few hours and feeding people who stopped by the 7th Street Garden's tent to check us out.  And to those of you who did stop by, thank you!  People didn't pay as much attention to the cooking as to the eating, which was cool with me.  I made buckwheat crêpes stuffed with sautéed onions, garlic, greens (Swiss chard, collards, mizuna, mustard, tat soi), thyme and some blue cheese crumbles.  I was too busy cooking to pull out my camera.  The greens were generously donated by Endless Summer Harvest and the flour, cheese and some other items by Kim Wee, proprietor of the Timor Bodega at Rhode Island and 2nd Streets NW.  Show these folks some love.

Ok . . . that's all for now.  Have a great couple of weeks.
